Today is my first day in my new job. I’m excited, a little nervous, and a whole lot of optimistic about what the future holds. Already things are rolling, and technically I haven’t even started yet. This is my first step in transitioning from working jobs, to working a career. This is a huge monument for me, and I’m not taking it lightly. I plan on hitting the ground running and soaking up as much information as I possibly can. I need to gain the experience, and the knowledge, so if something happened with this position I have a leg up in looking for more work.
I’ve never really taken life so seriously as I have been lately and already I can see it’s paying off. I wish I would’ve learned these things earlier in life, but for whatever reason my brain had to go through its own process to soak in these relatively common sense life lessons.
So right now I’m just waiting to clock in, as my first day as an adult. I’m looking forward to what the future brings now instead of shying away from the change that will come. Complacency is only nice superficially but doesn’t provide the sustainment in happiness that living proactively does.
