A Day at IKEA

Today was kind of a random day. We woke up this morning and David decided to call in. Why? I’m not entirely sure, but I decided to roll with it and make the most. He agreed to go with me to IKEA, which is crazy coming from him because he normally is not the least interested in going. But we went.

We were walking around the showcase talking about our dream home and the kind of designs we liked. Turns out, neither of us has a specific design we like. We kind of liked almost every showcase at IKEA. We seemed to really gravitate towards the kitchen showcases. Turns out we both really dig the same decor. There was only one kitchen that was so over-the-top colourful which had us divided.

We stopped and ate lunch in the restuarant. Neither of us opted for the Swedish meatballs oddly. We both went kids meal with the chicken tenders and fries. I finally had him try the Lingonberry beverage. It’s so good!

We ended up picking up way more than I had anticipated. We were both in a shopping mood. We got some flatware, organizers, cups, large and small plates, bowls, tools, etc. We ended up spending around $400, but I think we were both happy with our selections. On the way out it started pouring rain so we got into the car soaked.

It was honestly a good time. I’m kind of afraid to go back to IKEA now, knowing how uninhibited we can be with spending while there, but I look forward to another day of dreaming together.
