Since LGBT history month is coming to a close I need to celebrate it with this song. I happened upon this song a couple of weeks ago and it's just stuck with me. The video, the lyrics, and of course, Wrabel's vocals just really hit home with this song.
Being gay and coming to terms with it is a struggle. Being young and still trying to figure yourself out is hard, and being surrounded by people who make you feel like less than or like you're wrong for being yourself only complicates that. So many young LGBT kids need to be reminded that they're beautiful just the way they are. That there's nothing wrong with them, there's something wrong with the village of thinking that different is evil.
Take a look at the lyrics below and feel the words. Let the words hit home, gay or straight, because we need to all learn to celebrate each others differences instead of fear them.
