So lately I've been really into the show Zombie House Flipping.
Don't get me wrong, the show is awful. The team on the show does an amazing job flipping homes, but the format of the show, and often the drama within the episodes, are just so cringeworthy. Still, this show has me hooked. It paints Orlando in this really beautiful and quaint light. I look around this city and all I see is crime and ugliness. Then you watch this show and everything looks so damned pleasant. The b-roll in this show alone just fills me with a little pride, and wonder, in this city.
A lot of the shots in the b-roll are in and around Lake Eola. Lake Eola is an iconic lake in downtown Orlando. The scenery there is stunning, so it's no wonder the show chose to include shots of that particular area in almost every b-roll montage.
So of course, I've been wanting to go walk around the lake and enjoy the city. I don't get out of the house much and I've been trying to change that. So David and I planned a date for today to go walk around the lake and just relax and enjoy ourselves on a Sunday stroll.
Olivia and Lily came along. So it was less of an actual date and more like a day out.
We parked in a nearby parking garage and walked over to Menchies. The sun was skullfucking us into oblivion with its heat so frozen yoghurt just sounded right.
We then walked over to Publix to pick up some sunscreen for Lily. She NEVER gets out of the house so the sun is especially brutal on her. Afterwards we took a walk around the lake and got some great shots. We ended up having to leave sooner than I wanted too because the heat was just too much for Lily.
She started sweating profusely, and I can't remember why, but for her that's a bad thing. She even vocalized that she was done and ready to go home.
It was a great trip and I wanted to post it in my blog just so I can have this memory in words. Also to share the pictures.
