So David and I went to Guardiancon today. I was hoping to have Tweeds and Darden there, my two friends from D1, but unfortunately they couldn't make it. Tweeds lives all the way out in Minnesota and Darden has 1,037 kids.
Still, I was so happy to have my Husband with me, and to be honest he made the trip. He's lazy like I am so we were able to hit the con at a snails pace. Plus he tolerates the many many smoke breaks I need because the con was packed!
We got there a little later than I'd like, but we got there nonetheless. I picked up my badge and went inside the main convention floor. It was like being a kid at Disney World. I have this unhealthy obsession with Destiny, and here I am with other people that have sacrificed their lives to this game. People who probably think about Destiny as much as me. Like being a crazy person in an insane asylum, it was a very uncomfortable, yet comforting home.
We played Crucible on PC a couple of times so we could get some of the exclusive Guardiancon emblems and kickass legit Drifter coins.
We only stayed a couple of hours. I didn't get to meet Myelin Games like I was hoping. Dude, I've been listening to his Lore videos from before he started talking all sullen and ASMR-like. Haha.
I did get to see him though, which was cool. Also I saw My Name Is Byf. I like his videos too. We picked up a couple of shirts from the event and some fudge. Why fudge? I don't fucking know. I think it's because it was the only booth that wasn't swarmed butt-to-balls with other Guardians.
Anywho, it was a great trip. I can't wait for next year. A little disappointing that they're changing the name...again, but I understand the why behind it.
