The Nightmare Before Halloween

If you know me at all you know that October marks the beginning of what I refer to as my Holy Trinity. Basically my holy trinity is the months October, November, and December, for the obvious reasons. You have my Birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

My holy trinity started off with a bang, with the release of Shadowkeep, the newest DLC for Destiny 2, and my Birthday landing on Come Out with Pride. When we were at Lake Eola I noticed a flyer for an upcoming event at Lake Eola and immediately knew that we'd have to attend.

Lake Eola was hosting a movie night in the park showing the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, my favorite holiday movie. Granted I'll confess I still can't figure out if this is my favorite Halloween movie or my favorite Christmas movie. Maybe both? Regardless it was something to do that in my head involved activities and singing along with the best musical movie in the world. So I made a plan to attend with David and his friend Logan and my sister Olivia and her boyfriend Mike.

I ended up buying a Reptar onesie and David got a Teddy Bear oneside. I couldn't help but laugh because his teddy bear looked eerily like pedobear and we were going to an event in a public park with kids. Hahaha.

As anyone could've guessed we got there in our costumes already sweating our asses off. We met up with Logan and made a b-line to Menchies to get some froyo to cool ourselves off. As we started walking the rain started coming down and coming down hard. We ate up our froyo and then headed to the amphitheater when the rain took a break long enough for us to go. However by the time we reached the amphitheater the rain picked back up. We went across the street to the cute little corner patio bar. To my surprise they had my favorite beer, Brown Sugar Brown Cow. We hung out in the bar playing on the games they had while we kept an eye on the rain and on the blow up screen in the amphitheater.

When the rain stopped and the screen was finally blown up we left the bar and crossed the street back to where the event was. We immediately headed over to the pumpkin decorating table. They had tiny pumpkins and some markers to color on them. However, because of the rain the pumpkins were damp and the markers unfortunately didn't color too well.

The movie played and we had so much fun. I thought there would be more people singing along, but honestly there wasn't. There was a small child behind us that loved the movie as much as us and was singing along with the movie, but for the most part I think it was just us. It was a random event but so much fun. I hope we do this again next year.
