This year we had plans. New Orleans, Philadelphia, and possibly the Keys or New York. Yeah, those are canceled now. Courtesy of our friend, the Coronavirus.
We were on our way to having a great year and really getting out of the house and enjoying life. Getting out of the house has been an ongoing goal for us, as we're both lazy as fuck and enjoy the fruits of gluttony and being home. Now the Coronavirus has changed all of that.
My job has been crazy busy lately because our California location has closed down. We're prepping the possibility of closing down all locations. At first I was rooting it on, because yeah. That's a great way to slow down the spread of the virus. But my first day off on my canceled New Orleans anniversary vacation I got to see several termination notices come in. They started saving money by laying people off in California. So now I've changed my stance and I do NOT want an order to stay at home. Granted, my position is fortunate in that I can work from home, but being the bottom of our IT totem pole, I know that if there is a cut to me made in our department, I'd be that cut.

So as I stated our New Orleans trip got canceled. Not in any official way, we just opted out of it after seeing the confirmed cases rise we decided to play it safe and not go. I decided to keep my vacation time off, because I really really needed it. The theme parks in Orlando closed so David is on paid time off. So now we're having a Staycation together. We ended up using the money for our trip on getting a couch for the living room. This was an excellent decision as the new couch is both significantly bigger, and it folds out into a full bed.

My vacation is now almost done. I'm off tomorrow (Monday) and then I go back into work. It sucks that we didn't get to go to New Orleans, and moreso it sucks that we had to spend it at home so we missed out on the wild crazy sexy times we had planned, but at least we still had something. Some much needed time in each others company.
