Yesterday was a fun day at Disney!
Mom and I decided to celebrate both of our Birthdays, since hers is later in the week, together at Disney. I wanted to do it right and since David and I didn't get to do the Key West vacation that we had originally planned, we booked a night at Pop Century to have that ultimate Disney experience.
We met up with Mom at the hotel and walked around the property. She was telling us stories about when she worked at Pop Century before it opened while showing us around. We ended up getting the 90's era, which is perfect since I'm 100% a 90's kid.
We stopped at various spots for a quick photo opportunity.
Once we got to EPCOT we made a direct line for the main showcase for the food & wine festival to try some different snack. David and I got nitro dipped chocolate cake with M&M's, and Mom wasted no time on the alcohol. She got an Apple Pie drink that I swear was mixed by an alcoholic because it was fucking STRONG.
We also got some Mac and Cheese. Mom got her vegan Mac, I went with the garlic and herbs, and David.... he went with Lobster which smelled so god-awful.
After finishing up our food we walked around the world. We didn't do much in the way of rides. EPCOT was surprisingly busy and so god damned hot. We stopped at Italy and got some wine, and enjoyed sitting in the shade.
It was such a fun day. I love hanging out with Mom at the parks.
We ended up parting ways in the late afternoon and David and I went back to the room for a breather and then headed out to Disney Springs. I still haven't been there since they've changed it from Downtown Disney.
My god Disney Springs was crazy packed and busy. We stopped at the Edison, a hip steampunk inspired restaurant and had a bite to eat after walking around the whole Disney Springs. It was another beautiful day added to my Birthday week that will forever cement it as one of the most memorable Birthdays I've had in a long while.
