We went to Busch Gardens today!
Previously I've only been to Busch Gardens once, and it was in middle school. It was during a time in my life where I did not enjoy the idea of rollercoasters, unlike a lot of my classmates, so I sat out on all of the rides and just walked around the park for the day. I wanted to make up the mistake of my past this go-round and ride as many rides as I could.
I was invited by David to go, and conveniently it was the bookend of my fantastic Birthday staycation. His friend Logan was performing as The Count in the Sesame Street Halloween show so we, with his friends Ellany and Payton wanted to go watch and support Logan.
We got there early in the morning which gave us plenty of time to park and enter the theme park before our friends arrived. We walked around and hit up a photo booth, because why not?
After checking out various animal exhibits and walking around almost the entire park we went back to the front to meet up with our friends, but not before stopping at Starbucks for a Strawberries & Creme Frappucino. After meeting up with Ellany and Payton we went and rode on a couple of rides and then watched the Sesame Street show. I can't remember all of the rides we went on because they have some very unconventional names, but I can tell you Busch Gardens has some seriously fucking crazy rides! A couple of them were so intense I had a difficult time joining the chorus of screams.
Logan ended his shift and joined up with us for the rest of the day at the park. We stayed until closing and then headed out to a nearby Blaze Pizza joint that David was excited for me to try.
Unfortunately by the time we arrived at this pizza place I had a pounding (8) headache that left my tastebuds null and void to the pain. Luckily Logan had some ibuprofen that he shared with me, so I was able to pop them and nurse my head until it was time to go. It was about halfway back on our trip back home that my head finally stopped pounding.
I'm so happy to have gone to Busch Gardens. It left me feeling that get-out-and-explore feeling that I feel I've been missing out on the entirety of 2020. Fingers crossed that COVID-19 fucks off quick enough next year to be able to have a halfway normal year of getting my fat ass out of the house and exploring the world around me.
