Our car loan, as of today, was officially paid off!
It's been a long journey. Six years ago on December 20th, 2014 we went to Drivetime to look at a Prius. I wasn't expecting to drive away in a Prius. It was my dream car (I loved the big ass) but I figured if we drove away with anything it would be something a bit more economical.
We managed to make a little money move, and use our current car Chaz (the shitty Saturn SL1 on the left in the image above) as a deposit and we drove off the lot with our Prius. It was already 4 years old when we bought it, but it was still hands-down the nicest car we had ever owned...or drove in for that matter.
We've been paying on it ever since, and lo and behold today those payments are over. All-in-all we've paid over $30K for the car, you know, after interest and whatnot, but it was totally worth it!
As in love with our Prius as we still are we're already looking for other vehicles. We're thinking we may want to do something with a little more height and go with a Nissan Rogue. Truly I would love a Tesla, but until we have a garage where I can charge it at night, owning a Tesla isn't quite a practical solution.
I'm so proud of us for making payments all the way through. We haven't proven ourselves the most financially responsible but I feel we've done very well with paying off our car.
