Christmas Day

This year I finally did it! I finally made sure that we had stockings filled and gifts under the tree!

I think stockings are one of my favorite things about Christmas. It's just the excitement of all of the random little treats and knick-knacks that are inside. I miss getting stockings from my Mom because let me tell you, she's the QUEEN at stockings. Her stockings would always be filled with acceptable candy, useful personal hygiene things, and the best goodies you wouldn't think of. In fact, as I get older I find myself more and more just trying to replicate for David, what my Mom gave to me on Christmas.

Each year we find ourselves unable to do stockings because money is too tight. Turns out buying a variety of goodies to fill stockings is quite the expense! We buy a Christmas tree every year, and most years find ourselves with an empty tree because we don't wrap our gifts, or because we didn't have the money for that. With COVID-19 pretty much putting a cockblock of fun for most of the year I wanted to make sure we did Christmas right. So yeah, I ended up tapping into our bill money, but it was worth it!

We had wrapped gifts, which I thought turned out really beautiful wrapped in craft paper and tattered red ribbons, we had stockings overfilled with useful goods, and we had presents underneath the tree.

I got David a boombox that I've been wanting to get him for about 10 years. I was worried he wasn't going to like it, but since opening his gift he's been blasting his music throughout the house, so I'll take that as a genuine thumbs up. David got me two pairs of shoes. I was really needing shoes as I tend to only get one pair that I wear everyday throughout the year, so it's nice to have selection. He also got me a charger for my cell phone and some other goodies.

Our stockings were fantastic. Both him and his Mom got an Apple Watch in their stockings. I also bought what is hands down the best honey buns known to man and a variety pack of candy. Also I got us some charging stations for our phone and watches, protective glass for our phones, and some slim cases.

After presents we had breakfast courtesy of Angela and then just chilled out for the rest of the day.

I'm so happy with how Christmas turned out. I'm hoping that next year we do better and can finally buy gifts for our nieces and nephews, and our siblings and parents.
