Aside from being Valentine's Day today, our friend Ali celebrated his Birthday. We went to Dezerland for bowling and found something unexpectedly amazing there.
So the morning started out with breakfast at Hash House a Go-Go. This place is amazing. It's on the pricier side (a large orange juice costs $10), however their portions leave you okay with the price tag, well except for the juice really.
Ali had a few of his friends show up and we sat at a table, in an incredibly busy restaurant for about an hour and a half and then left to Dezerland.
Walking inside Dezerland was like walking in a museum. I mean that in about all respects. You're immediately met with old cars and odd cars. There was an arcade, however it looked like all of the prize machines were stocked with Wish.com items. There were bowling lanes. Go carts. Etc.
Right after breakfast I started to get a headache.
We did about 2 hours of bowling, to which I can confirm I'm still absolute garbage at bowling. After bowling David went on the go-carts which was awesome to watch, though poor guy was going slower than I think every driver behind him wanted to go.
After the go-carts we did some walking around and discovered what I think may be our new favorite store ever: Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop.
This place has so many cool and different types of soda. They had PB&J soda, grass soda, chocolate banana soda, mustard soda, pear soda, dog snot soda... They also had so much variety of candies. We ended up going crazy buying sodas and candies. They had one of my favorites, soft Aussie black licorice. Seriously, if you haven't tried it, try it now. 100% worth it.
All in all we had a blast. Except for that headache. I get headaches quite frequently and usually rate them on a scale 1-10. I've had a level 9 headache once where I was on the cusp of passing out from the pain and that was when we went to Washington DC in 2012. This was the second time. Driving home I was getting so worried that I was going to crash the car because my vision was being severely impacted from the pain.
Still, it was a great day and Ali really seemed to enjoy his Birthday.
